Rexhbecaj set for FCA switch, Martinez on the way too, Bondo headed elsewhere

Tasked with finding a midfield replacement for the recently injured Niklas Dorsch, FC Augsburg look to be the ones to finally ply Elvis Rexhbecaj away from VfL Wolfsburg on a permanent basis. The 24-year-old Kosovar shall head to the Fuggerstadt after spending the last 18 months on loan at 1. FC Köln and VfL Bochum.

Germany’s main sporting tabloid reports that Rexhbecaj will sign a contract through 2026 and cost the Bavarian Swabians a transfer fee of €1.75 million. Germany’s green company team could ultimately pocket more if certain performance incentives are met.

Regarding two other transfer rumors involving Augsburg, German footballing magazine Kicker reports that the FCA have tendered a concrete offer to obtain forward Antonio Martinez Lopez on loan. The deal for “Toni Martinez” will likely go through.

The case with AS Nancy midfielder Warren Bondo looks to be different. Kicker writes that the Rexhbecaj capture fills the needs of the Fuggerstädter at that position. Bondo is therefore more likely to land in Basel with FC 1893 head-coach Alexander Frei.
