Renato Sanches set to join Roma on loan with permanent option

According to Fabrizio Romano, Renato Sanches is set to join AS Roma on a season-long loan from PSG. The loan deal will cost the Giallarossi €1m and will also include an optional purchase clause worth €15m.

José Mourinho has been keen on bringing his compatriot to the Stadio Olimpico for some time.  Despite the long wait, the former Chelsea and Tottenham manager has his man and Sanches will sign for the Italian capital club on loan.

The purchase option in the Portuguese midfielder’s loan deal remains optional, to begin with, but if he features in 60% of Roma’s matches across the season – the deal will be automatically made permanent. The former Bayern Munich and Lille midfielder only signed for PSG last summer for a fee of €15m. Sanches made 27 appearances for Les Parisiens last season, scoring two goals. The former Swansea loanee’s PSG teammate Leandro Parades is also set to join the Giallorossi.
