La Liga outift Real Sociedad have on Friday announced an injury setback in the club’s first-team squad.
This comes amid confirmation that midfielder Luka Sučić is set for an incoming spell on the sidelines.
Sučić for his part played a starring role yesterday evening, as Real Sociedad made short work of FC Midtjylland in the Europa League.
En route to a 5-2 triumph for Imanol’s side, the Croatian international notched a brace, amid a fine individual display.
Such exploits on Sučić’s part, though, came in just over 45 minutes on the pitch.
Early in the 2nd-half at Anoeta, the 22-year-old pulled up with a fitness problem, swiftly hauled off by the hosts’ coaching staff as a result.
Sučić, in turn, was put through a round of medical tests on Friday morning.
And as much unveiled what has since been described by La Real as ‘a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee’.
As per a report from Marca, the midfielder is expected to miss ‘several weeks’ of action as a result, a heavy blow for Imanol and co. ahead of crunch upcoming fixtures against the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United.
