La Liga outfit Real Sociedad have announced a late-window addition to the club’s defensive ranks.
The player to have linked up with Imanol’s side for the season ahead? Nayef Aguerd.
Those behind the scenes at Sociedad, of course, enjoyed an altogether productive day’s work on deadline day.
First, early on Friday, La Real announced a deal for highly-regarded Copenhagen talent Orri Óskarsson.
Frontman Óskarsson has penned terms at Anoeta through the summer of 2030, adding some much-needed firepower to boss Imanol’s frontline.
The board in San Sebastian, however, were not done there…
Still on the lookout for reinforcements at the heart of defence following Robin Le Normand’s move to Atlético Madrid, Sociedad opened discussions with their counterparts at Premier League outfit West Ham United, too.
This came with a view to a deal for Nayef Aguerd.
And, as alluded to above, with mere hours remaining prior to the transfer deadline, La Real got their man.
As per a statement across the club’s website and social media platforms:
‘Real Sociedad and West Ham United have agreed on the loan of Nayef Aguerd until the end of the 2024-25 season. The Txuri Urdin club has also reached an agreement with the Moroccan player.’
