Nacho picked up a red card at the end of Real Madrid’s game against Girona on Saturday and the ramifications will be big, as reported by AS.
The defender will miss three games, including El Clásico on the 28 October. Nacho was described as “using dangerous play causing damage.” Real Madrid will rue the loss of their centre-back, especially as it came at the end of a comfortable 3-0 win vs Girona.
Nacho picked up the red card in the 94th minute. With Real currently nursing a depleted squad, Carlo Ancelotti will be annoyed at the loss of a key defensive asset. The Spaniard will also miss games against Osasuna and Sevilla.
Having also received the captaincy this season, Real may feel the loss of their leader in a game as crucial as El Clásico. The title race in La Liga is currently very tight, with five points separating fourth and first. The big three: Atlético Madrid, Barcelona and Real Madrid are all in the mix as well as this seasons’s surprise package, Girona.
As it stands only one point separates Real and Barcelona and the game at the end of this month will be a huge clash.
