A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid, once more, proved himself the club’s super-sub on Sunday night.
The player in question? Brahim Díaz.
After being afforded a first starting berth of the campaign in midweek, Brahim, this evening, returned to the bench, for Real’s La Liga meeting with Real Betis.
With the scoreline locked at 0-0 midway through the 2nd-half, though, the Moroccan was introduced to the fray, in place of Dani Ceballos.
And, within mere minutes, Los Blancos took the lead in proceedings. Then, less than ten minutes later, Carlo Ancelotti’s troops were out of sight, by way of a decisive 2nd.
It is of course Kylian Mbappé who has since taken the plaudits, after netting his first two goals in La Liga.
But it was Brahim, in truth, who completely changed the flow of the clash.
Introducing some much-needed guile and unpredictability to the hosts’ ranks in the final third, the former AC Milan, as seems to prove the case time and time again, sparked a lacklustre Real Madrid attack into life.
Brahim would, for his part, no doubt rather be a regular in the first-choice XI of the Spanish champions.
But on Sunday, once more, the 24-year-old proved that his role as a ‘super sub’ is the perfect one for he and Real Madrid alike.
