Marca has recently reported that Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio could exit Santiago Bernabeu and is open to looking at offers. It has also been mentioned that the Spanish sensation has a year left in his contract with Los Blancos and he would decide on his future after the World Cup saga concludes this year.

Asensio’s Impressive Form In Spanish Football This Season

The 26-year-old has had a decent campaign this season as he has already put in a handful of impressive displays on the right side of Madrid’s attack. Asensio participated in 41 matches for the Spanish side this season, scoring 11 goals and providing two assists across all competitions.

The Palma-born sensation has proven to be a consistent performer after averaging 2.1 shots, 1.0 key passes and 0.6 dribbles per game in the La Liga. He has also been impressive with his ball distribution from the wide areas of the pitch, completing 87.7% of his attempted passes in the Spanish first division (stats via whoscored).

Asensio excels at creating space for himself and is not afraid to take a shot at goal from long range. He can also chip in with a few assists producing meaningful chances for his teammates.

The Spanish international seems to have recaptured his form prior to his ACL injury, which had ruled him out for the 2019/20 season. He is primarily a right-winger but remains capable of playing in the central midfield, which showcases his versatility in proficiently adding significant firepower to the attacking front. However, he remains weak in dropping back on defence which he’ll need to work upon.
