Real Madrid
have a huge mountain to climb if they want any chance at making it past Arsenal
in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League
quarterfinal tie on Wednesday.
The Gunners put on a clinic in London in the first leg, beating Madrid 3-0 thanks to a pair of wonderful free-kicks by Declan Rice.

Arsenal 3-0 Real Madrid: Player Ratings and Match Highlights
Arsenal stunned the reigning champions of Europe with one of the best displays of the Champions League season.
Los Blancos now face the monumental task of overcoming a three-goal deficit, albeit at home in front of a packed Santiago Bernabeu.
Madrid are fresh off a gutsy 1-0 win over Deportivo Alaves in La Liga
over the weekend, going ahead in the 34th minute through Eduardo Camavinga and holding the lead the rest of the way, despite Kylian Mbappé getting his marching orders in the 38th minute after a horror challenge.
The French superstar has surprisingly avoided a multiple-game ban for the dangerous tackle, and will only miss one league match, meaning he’ll be available for both upcoming fixtures against FC Barcelona
on April 26 and May 11.
The Galacticos are still four points behind Barcelona in the La Liga table.
Arsenal, meanwhile, settled for a 1-1 draw with Brentford
at the Emirates on Saturday, taking the lead through Thomas Partey before Yoane Wissa drew the sides level in the 74th minute.
The North London side can effectively say goodbye to any hope of winning the Premier League
title, with Liverpool enjoying a 13-point lead at the top of the standings with just six games remaining.

Arsenal Projected Lineup vs Real Madrid
Mikel Arteta’s side suffered a few fitness blows over the weekend, as Jorginho, Thomas Partey and Ben White each picked up injuries in the draw with Brentford.
With Partey likely to miss the trip to Spain, Mikel Merino is likely to return to the midfield, instead of occupying the false nine position he’s been playing in recent weeks.
Leandro Trossard is likely to be the one to start at the tip of the spear in attack, with Arsenal’s usual triumverate of Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli just behind.
Arsenal predicted lineup (4-2-3-1): David Raya (GK) – Jurrien Timber, William Saliba, Jakub Kiwior, Myles Lewis-Skelly – Declan Rice, Mikel Merino – Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli – Leandro Trossard.
Injuries: Jorginho (rib), Thomas Partey (leg), Ben White (knock), Riccardo Calafiori (knee), Gabriel Magalhaes (hamstring), Gabriel Jesus (ACL), Kai Havertz (hamstring), Takehiro Tomiyasu (knee).
Real Madrid Projected Lineup vs Arsenal
Carlo Ancelotti will be happy Mbappé’s red card ban does not carry over into European competitions, as the Frenchman will be at the forefront of Madrid’s comeback efforts on Wednesday.
Eduardo Camavinga will miss the game through suspension, and will likely be replaced in midfield by compatriot Aurelien Tchouameni, who did not participate in the first leg due to a suspension of his own.
Brazilian wing duo Rodrygo and Vinicius Jr will be hungry after failing to make an impact in London a week ago, while Jude Bellingham will hope to chip in with a timely goal or two, as he’s known to do in the Royal White kit.
Real Madrid predicted lineup (4-3-3): Thibaut Courtois (GK) – Lucas Vázquez, Raul Asencio, Antonio Rüdiger, Fran Garcia – Federico Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, Jude Bellingham – Rodrygo, Kylian Mbappé, Vinicius Jr.
Injuries/suspensions: Ferland Mendy (thigh), Andriy Lunin (knock), Dani Carvajal (knee), Eder Militao (ACL), Eduardo Camavinga (yellow card accumulation).
