A leading member of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid looks increasingly likely to seal a departure from the club this summer.
That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Andriy Lunin as the player in question.
It has of course long been rumoured that goalkeeper Lunin could be on the move this summer, amid frustration with the prospect of returning to backup duties behind Thibaut Courtois over the season ahead.
Earlier this week, it was even suggested that the Ukrainian international was close to agreeing to the terms of a transfer to Premier League heavyweights Chelsea.
Such claims were subsequently denied, but this does not mean that Lunin’s exit is in fact any less likely.
As per the aforementioned Fabrizio Romano, the 25-year-old finding for himself a new home for the 2024/25 campaign, is considered a ‘strong possibility’.
Lunin, after a breakout year in Madrid last season, is evidently no longer prepared to warm the bench moving forward, seeking out the starting gloves at another leading European club as a result.
