Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. has this evening responded to the message of support sent his way by club legend Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo, for those who may have missed it, grabbed the headlines once more earlier today.
As much came during an appearance at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai.
Afforded the chance to speak in front of the large crowd in attendance, the 39-year-old was drawn on the recent awarding of the Ballon d’Or to Rodri.
Asked specifically if he felt as though Vinícius was hard done by in missing out on the Golden Ball, Ronaldo did not hesitate in assuring:
“Vinícius should have won the Ballon d’Or, in my opinion it was clear. It was unfair.”
Speaking after being named the Globe Soccer Player of the Year a short time later, CR7’s comments were therefore put to Real Madrid’s star man.
And Vinícius went on to respond:
“Cristiano Ronaldo’s words about the Ballon d’Or? If Cristiano said I’m the best, then I am!”
