Real Madrid’s Player of the Month for August has on Thursday secured his prize.
For those who may have missed it, Real’s latest standout performer for the opening month of the campaign was unveiled last week.
The player in question? Federico Valverde.
Midfielder Valverde is for his part fresh off a stellar opening to the new term.
Afforded an even more prominent role on the back of Toni Kroos’ retirement, the Uruguayan international has, as expected, responded to the call.
Excelling on both sides of the ball, Valverde featured from the off in all four of Real Madrid’s fixtures across all competitions in August, notching two goals along the way.
With the likes of Vinícius Jr. and Kylian Mbappé having endured more hit-and-miss openings to the season, it in turn came as little surprise to hear of Valverde’s excellence, this day last week, being recognised.
And now, a week on, the 25-year-old has officially secured his prize.
