A key member of the midfield ranks at Real Madrid is leading all of La Liga in one statistical category.
The stat in question? Interceptions.
Real are of course in the midst of a fine start to the new campaign, having rattled off five wins and two draws from the club’s seven outings to date.
Afforded the bulk of the credit for as much in the media have been Los Blancos’ attacking stars, from Vinícius Jr. to Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappé.
As alluded to above, though, in the middle of the park, another member of Carlo Ancelotti’s stars has also been shining bright.
The player in question? Aurélien Tchouaméni.
France international Tchouaméni has for his part featured from the off in all but one of Real Madrid’s La Liga outings this season.
And, across these six appearances, the 24-year-old has racked up 13 interceptions, more than any other player in Spain’s top-flight.
