In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Real Madrid have set their sights on Red Bull Leipzig goal machine Christopher Nkunku. It has been stated that Los Blancos are eyeing a move for the French attacker at the end of next season.
Nkunku’s Excellent Goal-Scoring Record At Leipzig Last Season
Nkunku had a majestic campaign at the Red Bull Arena as he produced plenty of match-winning displays as the spearhead of Leipzig’s attack. The 24-year-old found the back of the net on 35 occasions and picked up 19 assists in 50 matches for the German club last season across various competitions.
The French talent performed well to average 2.4 shots, 1.9 key passes and 1.9 dribbles per game in the Bundesliga. He has even been accurate with his link-up play in the attacking end of the pitch, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 81.8% in the German top tier (stats via whoscored).

What Will Nkunku Add To Real Madrid Head Coach Carlo Ancelotti’s Side?
Nkunku can use his pace and agility to get in behind the opposition backline. He proved his value as a deadly finisher in the Bundesliga last season. Nkunku has mostly played as a centre-forward but can even play as an attacking midfielder or as a left-sided wide player if required.
The French striker even contributed by securing his fair share of assists in the opponent’s half. However, only time will tell whether he can maintain his excellent form in Spain if Los Blancos can find a way to get a deal done for him at the end of next season.
We can expect Nkunku to inject more quality into Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti‘s frontline. He could serve as an ideal strike partner for Karim Benzema at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium and might even replace the French marksman as Los Blancos’ primary striker in the future.
At 24, Nkunku’s best years are ahead of him which makes him a good choice for the Madrid giants to pursue next summer. He will undeniably add more goals and pace to Ancelotti’s attack. The Leipzig talent has what it takes to help Real Madrid continue their dominance in both Spanish and European football.
