Real Madrid are out of the race to sign Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi, according to Spanish outlet as.
Guehi had been reportedly holding out on a move to the Spanish giants, but the English centre-back is now unlikely to join them.
The Palace captain, who is set to become a free agent next summer, wants a hefty salary and signing-on fee — demands Madrid are unwilling to meet.
The Los Blancos considered Guehi as an alternative to Ibrahima Konate, Dayot Upamecano and William Saliba, who has since signed a contract extension with Arsenal.
Madrid are now expected to explore options as they aim to bolster their defence next summer.
Liverpool and Bayern Munich are considered the front-runners to sign Guehi
The Premier League defending champions were close to signing the English defender last summer before Palace pulled the plug on the move.
The Reds have struggled defensively since the start of the season, and with the possibility of Konate leaving for free next summer, they retain interest in the centre-back.
Having come close to signing him last summer, the Merseyside giants will hope he chooses them over other suitors.
Meanwhile, Bayern are preparing for the possible exit of Kim Min-jae and have identified the former Chelsea prospect as a perfect fit to bolster their defence.
The Bavarians are prepared to meet his financial demands in a bid to persuade him to join the club.
The 25-year-old remains focused on helping Palace build on last season’s success and may not make a decision on his next move until the end of this season.
