Real Madrid must choose between Jude Bellingham and Joško Gvardiol

According to SportBild, Real Madrid are interested in both Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham and RB Leipzig’s Joško Gvardiol, however, they can only afford to buy one.

With Gvardiol, Real had already shown interest in the 21-year-old before the World Cup and even told Gvardiol’s advisors about their intentions.

The issue this summer is that with Gvardiol the release clause of €112 million does not become active until 2024. This means they will have to negotiate a price with Leipzig for Gvardiol, who are adamant about keeping the 21-year-old this summer, it will likely be very expensive to sign him.

While with Bellingham, Real do not want to make a bid over €100 million as they have their eyes on signing Kylian Mbappe in the summer as well as potentially Gvardiol.

If the club has to choose between one of the two, then Real will go with Gvardiol as their defence does not possess as many options for the future as their midfield does.
