Former Real Madrid star Mesut Özil has moved to send public messages the way of both the Spanish and English national teams.
As much, of course, comes after the two nations locked horns late on Sunday night.
In a highly-anticipated showdown in the German capital of Berlin, Spain and England went head-to-head for the Euro 2024 title.
When all was said and done, it was the former who emerged on the right side of the result, owing to goals on the part of Nico Williams and Mikel Oyarzabal.
And, in truth, few could argue against La Roja being deserved winners, the best team across the length of the Euros, by some distance.
And quick to send a message of congratulations to Luis de la Fuente’s squad on the back of the full-time whistle on Sunday, was the aforementioned Mesut Özil:
The one-time German international, though, was also keen to heap praise on England, another country which he once called home.
In a further post on his official ‘X’ account, Özil added:
