Real Madrid are set to meet with agent Jorge Mendes to discuss the future of Andriy Lunin this week, with his future up in the air. His renewal was all but sealed to commit him to the club long-term, but over recent weeks Los Blancos have had no news on his future, and there are now doubts about his continuity.
As detailed on Fabrizio Romano’s Daily Briefing by Matteo Moretto, there is interest in Lunin from abroad, and Los Blancos are considering the fact they may have to take alternative action. Amid links to Espanyol’s Joan Garcia, and suggestions that Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga could return to the club, Moretto confirms that Real Madrid have indeed enquired about Kepa’s availability again this summer.
The 29-year-old Basque goalkeeper had a couple of less impressive performances for Real Madrid, but mixed those in with some excellent ones too. While he lost his place to Lunin, few could turn their nose up at the Chelsea shot-stopper as a back-up to Thibaut Courtois.
