La Liga giants Real Madrid have tonight discovered the identity of the club whom they will face in the European Super Cup, in the case of emerging triumphant in the Champions League final.
This comes owing to events in the Europa League showpiece.
Atalanta and history-making Bayer Leverkusen locked horns in Dublin a short time ago, with the Europa League trophy.
And, when all was said and done, it was the former who emerged on the right side of an altogether one-sided result.
As much came owing to a Man of the Match display on the part of wide-man Ademola Lookman, whose hat-trick proved all she wrote when it comes to the goalscoring at the Aviva Stadium.
This of course means that Gian Piero Gasperini’s odds-defying Atalana have booked their spot in the UEFA Super Cup, set to play out on the 14th of August.
Joining the Bergamo-based outfit will be one of the aforementioned Real Madrid or Borussia Dortmund, who are primed to face off in the finale of the Champions League at Wembley on June 1st.
