Real Madrid are set to make the trip to the North-West of England to face Liverpool on Wednesday evening as they look to move up the table in the league phase of the Champions League.
Carlo Ancelotti published the squad that will make the trip on Monday afternoon, confirming the much-talked-about absence of Vinícius Jr., who is facing several weeks on the sidelines.
It wasn’t all doom and gloom for fans of Los Blancos however, as winger turned right-back Lucas Vázquez has made his return to the squad after missing out against Leganés.
With Federico Valverde’s impressive performance against Leganés, Ancelotti might be tempted to keep him at right-back, but having the option to move him back into midfield is also very handy.
Real Madrid haven’t quite set the world alight in Europe this season, so a positive result at Anfield is much needed to secure qualification without having to go through a playoff.
Heading to Anfield to face Premier League leaders Liverpool is always a tough task though…
