Tottenham Hotspur could allow Lucas Moura to seal his Hotspur Way departure in January after blocking loan moves late in the summer transfer window, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.
The likes of Harry Winks, Sergio Reguilon and Tanguy Ndombele were allowed to complete temporary switches away from north London ahead of last week’s deadline, but Moura has stayed put.

What’s the latest news involving Moura?
According to Football Insider, Tottenham rejected deadline day loan offers submitted by Premier League rivals Newcastle United and Aston Villa for Moura.
The report suggests the 35-cap Brazil international has now set his sights on running down his contract and leaving on a free transfer.
Moura has entered the final 12 months of his £80,000-per-week deal, but there is an option to extend the agreement by another year.
Respected journalist Jorge Nicola has revealed that the winger’s agent, Junior Pedroso, has scheduled a meeting with the Spurs hierarchy, where a departure for Brazil will be discussed amid interest from Sao Paulo.
Moura has been on the sidelines in recent weeks, but head coach Antonio Conte has claimed that he is nearing a return to action after an inflammation in his tendon.
What has Pete O’Rourke said about Moura?
O’Rourke believes there is a distinct possibility that Moura will leave Tottenham in January, when it will potentially be their final chance to cash-in before his contract expires.
The journalist is aware that the north Londoners were unwilling to allow him to join Newcastle or Villa during the final hours of the summer transfer window.
When asked whether Moura could seal a winter exit, O’Rourke told GIVEMESPORT: “Yes, there’s a real chance that he could possibly leave.
“Lucas Moura has been a good player for Tottenham in fits and bursts, but he has maybe not been as consistent as he possibly could be for some Tottenham fans.
“There was interest in him later on in the transfer window, with Aston Villa and Newcastle keen on him, but Tottenham blocked those loan moves.”
Should Spurs cash-in on Moura in January?
Moura joined Tottenham for £25million from French giants Paris Saint-Germain four-and-a-half years ago and there is no doubt that he has made an impact in north London.
He has scored 38 goals, including a memorable hat-trick against Ajax to book his current employers’ place in the 2019 Champions League final, and registered a further 27 assists in 204 appearances.
But the £60million summer arrival of Richarlison from Everton has sent Moura down the pecking order, meaning it would be a wise business decision to secure a fee for the 30-year-old’s services instead of potentially seeing him become a free agent in a matter of months.
