According to NRZ, Real Betis are interested in a loan deal for Borussia Dortmund’s Fabio Silva this winter.
The Portuguese forward is currently dissatisfied with his limited playing time in Westphalia. The 23-year-old, who joined from Wolves in the summer, has featured mainly off the bench this campaign. His longest stint on the pitch in the Bundesliga this season has been just 29 minutes.
Silva has featured slightly more frequently from the bench in other competitions, but with BVB now out of the DFB Pokal, his playing time will be cut once again.
Is The Deal Likely?
For Real Betis to cover the cost of the loan and Silva’s salary, they would first have to free up space on their wage bill.
In order to do this, they would have to first sell players. Both Cedric Bakambu and Chimy Avila are potential candidates this winter.
However, despite Silva’s complaints, BVB bosses are currently not considering letting the forward go. Despite only playing a limited number of minutes, the club wants him to stick out the season with them.
