RB Leipzig’s young talent Hugo Novoa is set to move out on loan to Swiss side FC Basel, according to Sky Germany.
The 19-year-old winger is an exciting prospect for the Saxons. However, with tough competition in forward positions, it’s in everyone’s best interests to place Novoa out on loan once again.
However, before the winger heads out to Switerzland, his current contract at Leipzig will be automatically extended beyond 2024. This will allow him to spend a year and a half in Basel where he’ll get plenty of playing time and have the chance to settle into his new environment.
It’s not the first time a young player from a Bundesliga squad has moved to Basel. When Novoa joins the team, he’ll be greeted by left-back Noah Katterbach (21), winger Anton Kade (18) and striker Bradley Fink (19), who came from Borussia Dortmund’s youth team. FC Basel’s transfer agenda continues to follow the same pattern.
