Sport Bild reports that RB Leipzig are looking to add more speed to their team and are interested in SC Freiburg centre-back Max Rosenfelder.
The 21-year-old was promoted to the first team this season and has been a regular fixture in the matchday squad, either being in the starting 11 or from the bench more recently as he has dealt with back problems.
For his height and position, Rosenfelder is abnormally fast. The centre-back is currently the 11th fastest player in the Bundesliga this season with a top speed of 35.91 km/h registered.
The lack of speed in the Leipzig team has been identified as a problem and something they wish to fix, as soon as possible. In the attacking position, Randal Kolo Muani has been touted as a possibility, while Rosenfelder would fit into the Leipzig model in defence.
The Freiburg native could be seen as a replacement for Lukas Klostermann. The long-time Leipzig defender also has a history of being a quick centre-back but in recent seasons has dropped off in his quality. Rosenfelder already looks like a better out-and-out defender than Klostermann.
