Sacha Tavolieri reports that RB Leipzig are interested in Club Brugge full-back Maxim De Cuyper as he looks to take the next step in his career in the summer.
De Cuyper has attracted interest from both Italy and Germany. AC Milan sees the 24-year-old as a potential successor to Theo Hernandez if the Frenchman decides to leave in the summer.
Leipzig are said to have De Cuyper top of their list when it comes to left-backs as they lack depth in the position behind David Raum, as shown by his recent injury this season. The left-back’s contract in Brugge expires in 2028 and will cost around €20m.
Currently, Leipzig has two Club Brugge alumni in their squad. Loïs Openda and Antonio Nusa have both played for the club and have then gone on to have a successful period at the Red Bull Arena. However, both have struggled this season, as have Leipzig on the pitch.
