The DFB have confirmed today that RB Leipzig have been fined €36,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct by their fans for the use of pyrotechnics in the second half of their DFB Pokal final against Eintracht Frankfurt on June 3.
RB Leipzig can use up to €12,300 of the aforementioned fee for security or violence prevention measures, but they must prove this to the DFB by December 31.
This comes after RB Leipzig fans ignited eight smoke bombs and five thunder flashes, while a rocket was shot in the direction of the pitch. Use of the above caused the second half to be delayed by around three minutes due to smoke over the pitch, limiting visibility.
During the second half and after the final whistle, Leipzig supporters then lit another nine Bengal flares, two firecrackers and two more flashers, per the DFB- and another rocket was fired in the direction of the pitch.
