Rangers have been given a glowing recommendation by Borna Barisic to sign NK Osijek midfielder Marko Soldo, according to Daily Mail.
The club want a midfielder and a winger in January, and the 21-year-old fits the bill. Technical director Nils Koppen likes what he sees in him.
A bid from Rangers for Soldo in January is looking increasingly likely, with the Ibrox hierarchy impressed after what Barisic has told them.
While the young Croatian now primarily plays as a defensive midfielder, he grew up playing as a winger and remains a versatile player, given his attacking and defensive qualities.
Securing his services could see manager Philippe Clement free Mohamed Diomande to play further forward, and the move could hugely benefit Rangers’ bid to win silverware.
Soldo has bagged six goals and four assists in the Croatian top flight this term.
Winning aerial duels and tackles are among his defensive qualities, while he is also an excellent ball carrier who loves to regularly get inside the opposition box.
Barisic knows what it takes to play Rangers and is fully convinced his compatriot has everything they need as they look to re-establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with again in Scotland.
