Rangers are interested in Nottingham Forest centre-back Jonathan Panzo, reports the Daily Record.
The 22-year-old is currently on loan at Championship club Coventry City and has impressed.
The Scottish Premiership club have regularly scouted Panzo and had representatives run the rule over him.
The England youth international has featured in 28 games across all competitions for the Sky Blues this term.
Centre-back is a department Rangers would love to strengthen during the summer transfer window.
Panzo is not the only defender they are watching, but Light Blues manager Michael Beale knows him from their time in the Chelsea youth ranks.
He could be keen on a reunion, but Forest have not made up their mind about his future.
Panzo joined the Tricky Trees from Dijon last year and linked up with his former England under-17 manager Steve Cooper.
He has only made an appearance for the City Ground club since then.
However, Panzo could have done enough to earn himself a place in the first team next term.
The Englishman will return for pre-season preparations before a decision is made on his immediate future.
Another loan spell could be on the cards but Rangers could prefer a permanent deal.
The Ibrox club will be playing in Europe next term, which could make them an attractive option to transfer targets.
The former AS Monaco man is a perfect ball interceptor and Beale could do with his talents.
Rangers are unlikely to win the Premiership after going nine points behind Celtic with nine games left in the campaign.
They will look to recruit quality players when the transfer window opens, and Panzo could emerge as a target.
