Former Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has advised Stuttgart forward Saša Kalajdžić to stay at the club despite interest from his former employer, according to Sky Germany.
Saša Kalajdžić has spoken out in recent weeks that he wants clarity on his future: “I don’t know myself how my future will turn out but that will become apparent in the next few weeks or as soon as possible, but I can’t influence many things either,” Kalajdžić told DAZN.
At the start of the transfer window this summer, the 25-year-old was wanted by the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich but both clubs have since decided to pursue other targets. Kalajdžić has also been linked with various Premier League, including Manchester United, and Serie A clubs but VfB are yet to receive any official offers.
In regards to a possible move to Manchester United, Austria head coach Ralf Rangnick has spoken up about Kalajdžić possibly moving to Man United.
“It is important that Saša remains injury-free this season and trains and plays at the highest possible level. If he stays in Stuttgart this season, it will not be detrimental to his development,” explained the 64-year-old coach.
Should Kalajdžić remain at the club beyond the September 1 transfer deadline, Stuttgart sporting director Sven Mislintat is confident that the Austria international will sign a contract extension.
Last season, Kalajdžić scored six and created two in 15 Bundesliga games but missed a chunk through injury. Playing 64 minutes against RB Leipzig on Sunday, the Austrian assisted Naouirou Ahamada for the equalising goal.
