It’s Europa League final day! Tonight at Budapest’s Puskás Aréna, serial tournament winners Sevilla FC take on Europa Conference League holders AS Roma.
Will Portuguese mastermind José Mourinho deny the Andalusians a record seventh title in Europe’s second-most prestigious club competition? The former Chelsea and Manchester United manager is looking for a record of his own. Should the Giallorossi were to win on Wednesday in Hungary, Mourinho would lift his sixth European trophy as a manager. The Portuguese coach won the Europa League with Porto (2003) and Manchester United (2017), the Champions League with Porto (2004) and Inter (2010) as well as the Europa Conference League with AS Roma (2022).
Two French players could lift the Europa League trophy tonight. Sevilla centre-backs Loïc Badé (23) and Tanguy Nianzou (20) have been selected by Sevilla FC coach José Luis Mendilibar to travel to Hungary. The Stade Rennais loanee may even start after a tremendous display against Juventus in the semi-finals. Could Badé and Nianzou swell the ranks of the French winners of the Europa League, and would you be able to name them all ?
