Kicker reports that PSV Eindhoven are interested in Augsburg striker Ricardo Pepi, who is currently on loan at Groningen.
Since his loan to the Netherlands, the 20-year-old has played 28 times scoring 10 and assisting three. The interest in Pepi means Augsburg have the opportunity to recoup some of the €16.36m they spent in January last year signing him from FC Dallas.
Pepi’s current contract at Augsburg expires in 2026 and is currently valued at €9m.
Leaving Augsburg may be an option for Pepi as there will be a host of other strikers ahead of him. Ermedin Demirovic, Dion Beljo and Irvin Cardona will all be at the club in the summer. While Augsburg are also likely to activate the buy option in Mergim Berisha’s loan from Fenerbahce.
However, the 20-year-old may favour a return to the Bundesliga as he may feel like he has unfinished business as he is yet to score in 15 games.
