PSG’s Sergio Rico remains in intensive care but in “stable” condition

The wife of Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Sergio Rico (29) has said that her husband is in a stable condition, whilst the hospital, where he is being treated for a head injury in Seville, has said that the player remains in intensive care.

Following PSG’s draw against Strasbourg on Saturday, which wrapped up back-to-back Ligue 1 titles for Les Parisiens, Rico travelled back to his hometown of Sevilla. It is there that Rico suffered an accident following a collision with a runaway horse. The Spaniard has since been hospitalised. On Monday, PSG teammate Carlos Soler and FC Sevilla President Pepe Castro visited the player.

An update was expected today and has now come. Silva, who had already posted two emotional messages on social media, spoke to journalists at the Virgen del Rocío Hospital and revealed that Rico’s condition was “stable.” She added, “The hospital will tell you how everything is going.”

A release from the hospital, seen by Le Parisien, revealed that Rico is still in intensive care and is still sedated. Rico’s agency, You First, also spoke to journalists, confirming that Rico’s condition was stable and adding that they are “awaiting the clinical evolution in the coming days.”
