Paris Saint-Germain winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (24) was the victim of a burglary this weekend while holidaying in Cannes with family and fellow Georgian international Zuriko Davitashvili (AS Saint-Étienne), according to Georgian outlet Geo Team.
The incident occurred in the players’ absence while they were enjoying a short break on the French Riviera, as Kvaratskhelia was granted time off between PSG’s Champions League final and the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup (June 15 – July 13).
According to L’Équipe, jewellery, luxury watches and designer bags were stolen from the rental property, though no one was harmed in the incident. A preliminary investigation has been opened by local authorities.
Kvaratskhelia, who joined PSG from Napoli this past season, was not called up by Georgia manager Willy Sagnol for the current international window in order to rest ahead of a busy summer. Georgia defeated the Faroe Islands 1-0 and drew 1-1 with Cape Verde in friendly matches.
