L’Équipe are reporting that Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Julian Draxler (29) is set to join Qatari top-flight side Al-Ahli.
Not one PSG midfielder, but two; following Marco Verratti’s (30) move to Al-Arabi on Wednesday, Draxler is set to become the next Parisien to make the move to Qatar. Draxler is one of many “undesirables” slated for a departure from PSG this summer. He had reportedly rejected a move to Premier League side Crystal Palace, however, with the Qatari window still open until 18th September, Draxler can still move.
The transfer, had, however, been in doubt. L’Équipe reported earlier this week that his family’s concerns over the move were holding up the deal. The German international therefore asked for more time to make the decision. That decision has now seemingly been made. Draxler, who spent last season on loan at Portuguese side Benfica will honour the agreement and sign for Al-Ahli SC.
Fabrizio Romano adds that the medical has been booked and that the deal is in the final stages and should be completed in the next 24-48 hours.
