Paris Saint-Germain’s Hugo Ekitike (21) would be willing to forego a percentage of his salary in order to join Eintracht Frankfurt, according to fussball.news.
Wolfsburg have also submitted an offer for the French attacker, who wants to gain match practice after playing just eight minutes in Ligue 1 this season. Ekitike would be opening to joining Eintracht in January, while the Bundesliga side’s pursuit of a forward in the current window is well known. Per the report, discussions between both parties are positive. But whether they are willing to spend in excess of €20m this month remains to be seen.
Eintracht Frankfurt have long term interest in Hugo Ekitike
Eintracht’s interest in Ekitike was reported back in August as they seeked a replacement for Randal Kolo Muani, but a move never materialised.
As reported via our colleagues at Get French Football News, PSG are also looking to sell Ekitike. The player was ostracised by the Parisien side after refusing to move the other way in a swap deal for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Kolo Muani in a player-plus-cash deal last summer.
But Ekitike isn’t the only forward Eintracht are monitoring in the winter transfer window. As reported by Florian Plettenberg, Stade Rennes striker Arnaud Kalimuendo wants to join Eintracht Frankfurt while the Hessen club recently completed the loan signing of Wolves forward Saša Kalajdžić.
