PSG’s €117m package to sign Lucas Hernandez from Bayern Munich

As reported by Sports Zone, PSG have committed to spending well over €100m to secure the services of Lucas Hernandez from Bayern Munich.

The 27-year-old defender, who can play at centre-back and left-back, is currently undergoing a two-stage medical ahead of confirming his switch to Paris, with the first part successfully completed today.

Sources disagree, but French outlet Sports Zone suggest PSG will pay a transfer fee of €45m, which rises to €50m when including bonuses. L’Équipe report the base fee as €40m, while RMC prices the move at €47m.

SZ also adds that Paris has allotted €10m to cover the player’s signing-on fee and commission for his agent. This is in addition to the proposed €19m yearly salary for the France international over a three-year contract, as per L’Équipe, which takes the total deal to a value of around €117m.

This is despite Hernandez failing to return to action since sustaining a knee ligament injury during France’s World Cup opener with Australia last winter in Qatar and that Romain Mabille, head of the club’s leading supporters’ group, the CUP, stating that Hernandez is “not welcome” due to his links with PSG’s Classique rivals, Marseille, where the defender was born.
