According to Spanish outlet El País, PSG want Neymar to leave the club.
Last week a PSG representative contacted the player’s father to let him know that they wanted to let the Brazilian forward go.
This was reported by RMC and later confirmed to El País by a source close to Nasser Al-Khelaifi, president of PSG.
The same sources say that the decision took shape when PSG’s owners handed a new deal to Kylian Mbappé, making him the face of their project and giving him a voice at the club.
Mbappé demanded changes in the organisation and called for the removal of former sporting director Leonardo. Regarding Neymar, the Frenchman pointed out his lack of discipline in training and during recovery routines.
Mbappé said the same thing that manager Mauricio Pochettino had been pointing out since last Christmas, that no player is bigger than the club.
The Brazilian, who this season renewed his contract until 2027, earns around €40 million net per year, from football and sponsorship deals.
At a meeting between PSG’s representatives and his father, who acts as the player’s representative, he was assured that his son would be paid what is owed to him.
With a contract until June 2027, the 30-year-old would be due a sum in the region of €200 million.
