PSG are certain to face a Ligue 1 team – either Monaco or Brest – in a two-legged play-off round in February. The league champions have sealed their spot in the Champions League play-off round courtesy of their convincing 4-1 away win against Stuttgart. Thanks to their second consecutive Champions League win, Luis Enrique’s Les Parisiens have rocked up to 15th in the standings, which means they will be seeded for Friday’s draw.
As they finish 15th in the Champions League, PSG will face either the 17th-placed team or the 18th-placed one, and as luck would have it, both of those spots are occupied by Ligue 1 teams, respectively AS Monaco and Brest. PSG will know which one of Monaco or Brest they will face next month on Friday. The Champions League play-off round first legs will be played on 11 and 12 February. The second leg will be played the following week. Given that PSG are seeded, the return leg against Monaco or Brest will be held at Parc des Princes.
