L’Equipe report this Wednesday that PSG are stepping up their pursuit of Benfica midfielder Joao Neves (19). Sports Zone reported this Tuesday that an agreement in principle had been reached between the Ligue 1 champions and the 19-year-old Portugal international. PSG are looking to bolster their midfield options and are seemingly moving fast to secure the services of the Benfica defensive midfielder.
L’Equipe report that PSG have tested the waters through intermediaries to reach an agreement with the Portuguese club, mentioning a total package worth €70m, including €10m worth of bonuses. However, Les Parisiens are yet to submit a formal bid to their Benfica counterparts. The outlet understands that PSG were confident a deal could be wrapped up quickly.
RMC Sport reported on Monday that PSG would be ready to capitalize on Fabian Ruiz’s (28) flawless displays at the Euros to raise the funds needed for a midfield revamp, with Joao Neves, Bayern’s Joshua Kimmich (29) and Rennes’ Désiré Doué (19) on the club’s shortlist.
