According to a report from Sky Germany, PSG and Real Madrid are interested in signing Dayot Upamecano (27) on a free transfer. The France international will be able to leave Bayern Munich as a free agent with his contract expiring at the end of the season.
The 27-year-old is yet to reach an agreement with the Bundesliga champions over a new contract. Discussions are ongoing, but as the winter transfer window nears, the Bavarian outfit’s position weakens. Upamecano is free to discuss a pre-contract agreement with clubs from 1st January if no new contract is signed before that date.
Upamecano to leave on a free?
It remains to be seen whether the former RB Leipzig centre-back will sign a new deal with Bayern. However, the defender’s entourage have already established contacts with Les Parisiens and Real Madrid over a potential move in the summer transfer window when he becomes a free agent, Plettenberg understands.
