Having been pushed out of the starting spot at Paris Saint-Germain by Gianluigi Donnarumma at the start of the season, Keylor Navas has found unexpected success in the Premier League, helping promoted outfit Nottingham Forest secure safety with two games to spare.
The Costa Rican international moved across the Channel during the January transfer window, having only made two cup appearances with the Parisians this season. The 36-year-old, who has accumulated 17 league appearances in England, had explained earlier in the spring that he felt capable of playing for any time, and even winning the Champions League with PSG.
According to Foot Mercato this afternoon, though, Navas’ desire is now to remain in the Premier League, even if he is set to return from Nottingham this summer. His high salary and ambitions mean that going back to the Reds next season is an unlikely project, while Donnaumma is blocking his path to the number one spot at PSG. Chelsea, Leicester, Brentford and Tottenham Hotspur have been mentioned as potential suitors, all of which are looking to sign a goalkeeper this summer.
