PSG interested in the return of Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby

Paris Saint-Germain are considering bringing back Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby to Parc des Princes, reports Foot Mercato.

An academy product of PSG, Diaby struggled for game time with the first team and left the capital club in 2019 to join Leverkusen.

The French winger has grown into one of the best young wingers in Europe at Leverkusen while also seeing his stock skyrocket over the last few seasons.

Having racked up 48 goals and 46 assists overall for Leverkusen, Diaby is one of the few players in Europe who have constantly hit double figures for goals and assists.

Diaby has been at his usual best this season, playing a pivotal role in Leverkusen’s revival under Xabi Alonso. He was also on the scoresheet in the recent victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 23-year-old’s current deal expires in 2025, and PSG are interested in reuniting with their former academy graduate.

Les Parisiens are looking to bolster their attacking options come the summer, with Lionel Messi edging closer towards an exit.

The Argentine World Cup winner appears to be not in the plans of the Ligue 1 giants, who have decided against extending his contract.

Meanwhile, there are also rumours that Hugo Ekitike, who joined PSG last summer, could leave Parc des Princes on loan.

As for Diaby, PSG face competition from a handful of clubs in the Premier League and Serie A.

Leverkusen could also prefer to sell him to the highest bidder, and the asking price will be no less than around €70 million.

Arsenal have been tracking the French winger for a long time, while Newcastle United also admire his profile.

PSG have also identified Diaby’s compatriot and Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani as a potential target for the summer, however, Manchester United and Bayern Munich are also in contention.
