PSG didn’t match Manchester United’s €70m bid for Leny Yoro due to fitness concerns in the wake of the centre-back’s foot fracture

Paris Saint-Germain refused to match Manchester United’s €70m bid for Leny Yoro (18) because they had doubts about the centre-back’s fitness, according to a report from L’Equipe. The outlet adds that the 18-year-old sustained a left foot fracture during a preseason game in Los Angeles against Premier League rivals Arsenal last Saturday.

Footage of Yoro walking with an orthopedic boot emerged on social media recently. L’Equipe understands that Yoro is set to spend “several weeks” on the sidelines, presumably missing at least the Premier League’s opening game between Manchester United and Fulham FC on Friday, August 16.

L’Equipe reporter Loïc Tanzi added that “following Leny Yoro’s injury, PSG guarantee they knew the player’s fragility in that area. It explains why the club didn’t want to reach the price Manchester United went for.” The Red Devils fended off competition from PSG or Real Madrid in submitting Lille OSC a total package worth €70m, with €8m worth of performance-related add-ons.
