Winless in their last two Bundesliga games, RB Leipzig will be eager to make amends when they face Wolfsburg on Saturday afternoon in a fixture that is dubbed as ‘El Plastico’.
Playing a back-five in his last two games, Marco Rose is expected to revert back to a 4-2-3-1, which would see Mohamad Simakan and Marcel Halstenberg operating at full-back.
Rose and Leipzig also receive a huge boost heading into this weekend with the return of Christopher Nkunku. The Frenchman has resumed training and although not fully match fit, Nkunku, Leipzig’s top scorer, is an option off the bench for Rose should he need to be called upon.
Péter Gulácsi remains sidelined and will be for the remainder of the season, Dani Olmo is also absent.
As for Wolfsburg, Niko Kovac may be without Jakub Kaminski who has an illness, meaning Omar Marmoush could start, but don’t expect Kovac to deviate from his 4-2-3-1. This should be an interesting fixture.
Predicted RB Leipzig XI vs Wolfsburg
Janis Blaswich – Mohamad Simakan, Willi Orban, Josko Gvardiol, Marcel Halstenberg – Konrad Laimer, Xaver Schlager – Dominik Szoboszlai, Emil Forsberg, Timo Werner – André Silva.
