Milan kick off their Serie A campaign tonight at the Renato Dall’Ara against Bologna.
After onboarding a host of new arrivals within their ranks, Milan have shown a clear indication to their league counterparts that they are a team challenging for the Scudetto this season. The Rossoneri fell a bit with their performances last season and while they managed to secure a 4th-placed finish, it was 20 points short of league winners Napoli. Stefano Pioli’s men concluded last season with the most draws (10) amongst the top seven finishers and defence is certainly an area they will have to improve this season.
Meanwhile, Bologna approach this match on the back of a comprehensive 2-0 victory against second division side Cesena in the first round of the Coppa Italia. Tommaso Coraza and Joshua Zirkzee were on the scoresheet as the Rossoblu coasted through to the next round. Manager Thiago Motta’s side are set to have a tough start to the season as following tonight’s match, they will face Juventus in the second matchday of the league. Bologna finished 11th last season as they will hope to make it top ten in this one.
Here are the predicted line-ups for the match according to Sky Italia:
Bologna (4-3-3): Skorupski; Posch, Lucumi, Bonifazi, Lykogiannis; Ferguson, Dominguez, Aebischer; Orsolini, Zirkzee, Ndoye.
Milan (4-3-3): Maignan; Kalulu, Thiaw, Tomori, Hernandez; Loftus-Cheek, Krunic, Reijnders; Pulisic, Giroud, Leao.
