Borussia Dortmund travel to Sinsheim on Friday night as they face Hoffenheim at the PreZero Arena.
Edin Terzić is expected to make a number of changes heading into the game following their 1-0 win against Wolfsburg last weekend. Firstly, Kicker suggests that Dortmund will revert to a 4-2-3-1 with Niklas Süle replacing Nico Schlotterbeck in defence, alongside Mats Hummels.
There was only a place on the bench for Borussia Dortmund captain Emre Can last weekend, but he’s expected to return to the starting XI alongside Salih Özcan in a double-pivot. Donyell Malen, BVB’s top scorer this season, should also return in place of Jamie Bynoe-Gittens.
Another player who could return to the starting XI is Sébastien Haller. The Ivorian will play ahead of Niclas Füllkrug, with neither forward finding the net in the Bundesliga this season. Marco Reus, who scored the only goal against Wolfsburg, will retain his place in the squad with the 34-year-old Dortmund’s best player by some margin last weekend.
Julien Duranville should be named among the substitutes, while Karim Adeyemi, Felix Nmecha and Youssoufa Moukoko all remain options from the bench tonight.
Predicted Borussia Dortmund XI vs Hoffenheim
Gregor Kobel – Julian Ryerson, Niklas Süle, Mats Hummels, Ramy Bensebaini – Emre Can, Salih Özcan – Donyell Malen, Marco Reus, Julian Brandt – Sébastien Haller
