It’s Der Klassiker on Saturday and the game between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich is gearing up to be one of the best in recent years. Bayern are coming into this game 10 games unbeaten against their opponents and despite both teams unbeaten in the Bundesliga this season, neither side are particularly impressive on the pitch.
Manuel Neuer returned in goal against Darmstadt last weekend and even after Bayern’s elimination from the DFB Pokal in midweek in Saarbrücken, he will retain his place. One player that Bayern will be without is Joshua Kimmich, who was sent off against Darmstadt last weekend.
That means a midfield pivot of Leon Goretzka and Konrad Laimer, which would see Noussair Mazraoui at right-back. With Matthijs de Ligt injured, we could see a return for Dayot Upamecano who has only just returned to training.
Expect Bayern’s attacking quartet of Leroy Sané, Jamal Musiala, Kingsley Coman and Harry Kane to remain untouched.
Predicted Bayern Munich XI vs Borussia Dortmund (via Kicker)
Manuel Neuer – Noussair Mazraoui, Dayot Upamecano, Kim Min-jae, Alphonso Davies – Konrad Laimer, Leon Goretzka – Kingsley Coman, Jamal Musiala, Leroy Sané – Harry Kane.
