Atlético Madrid will face Villarreal at the Estadio Metropolitano tonight at 7.30pm local time.
Both sides began their respective La Liga campaigns with 3-0 victories and are looking to maintain their good start to the season.
Atlético Madrid comfortably defeated Getafe away from home thanks to two goals from Álvaro Morata and a goal from Antoine Griezmann, whereas in Villarreal’s game against Valladolid, Raúl Baena scored a brace following Nicolas Jackson’s opener.
Villarreal will come into this game confident following their 4-2 win against Hajduk Split in the Europa Conference League qualifiers last Thursday.
It is believed that Diego Simeone will only introduce one change to the winning side last week, with Yannick Carrasco expected to start instead of Saúl Ñíguez.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Atlético will field the following starting XI: Jan Oblak – Nahuel Molina, Stefan Savic, Axel Witsel, Reinildo Mandava, Yannick Carrasco – Marcos Llorente, Koke Resurrección, Thomas Lemar – Joao Félix, Álvaro Morata.
