Leaving Manchester United as a free earlier in the summer transfer window, Paul Pogba returned to Juventus to embark on another successful stint in the Turin-based club. Nevertheless, it doesn’t seem to have been a seamless experience for the Frenchman at the Italian club so far.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Paul Pogba has left the Juventus camp, cancelling the pre-season tour at the halfway point.
He has decided against undergoing an immediate operation on his right knee in the United States and will now return to Italy for further consultations with doctors. He has reportedly asked for more time before going under the scissors.
His entourage is also helping him understand whether he should undergo the operation. During Juventus’ training session in Los Angles, Pogba felt pain in his right knee.
Although the initial message from the player didn’t look alarming, the subsequent checks, carried out by club doctors, revealed that the 29-year-old had sustained a meniscus injury on his right knee, which apparently requires surgery.
Further checks will be conducted to understand whether there are other ways to avoid surgery.
Since returning to Turin, Pogba has played only 45 minutes of football, which came against Chivas in Juve’s first pre-season friendly.
