Contrary to claims made in the media, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has no interest in leaving Barcelona this summer, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.
Last night and this morning there were rumours circulating that Aubameyang is being considered by Chelsea as a replacement for Romelu Lukaku, who was signed by Inter Milan on loan earlier this transfer window.
However, sources close to the Gabonese striker stated that he is very happy at Barcelona and is not thinking about leaving. Although competition to be the first-choice centre-forward has increased with the arrival of Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich, Aubameyang is ready to embrace the challenge of competing for his place in the starting XI with the Polish striker.
The 33-year-old has a contract with the Blaugrana until June 2025, with an opt-out option in June 2023. He is very much onboard with Xavi’s project to make the club competitive again and has a good relationship with his fellow teammates.
