The race for the top-scorer prize in the Spanish top-flight continued to twist and turn through the latest round of midweek fixtures.
The most significant move saw Robert Lewandowski extend his advantage atop the pile.
After notching the only goal of Barcelona’s hard-fought downing of Getafe on Wednesday, veteran frontman Lewandowski took his tally for the La Liga season to seven.
This is two more than have been managed by 2nd-place, now shared by a pair of players.
After another Barca star in Raphinha failed to add to his haul of five goals, he was levelled by Real Madrid summer signing Kylian Mbappé, whose finish against Deportivo Alavés guided the Frenchman onto five goals.
Next up comes Villarreal star Ayoze Pérez on four, followed by a whole host of players with three goals to their name, including Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal.
As things stand, then, it is the aforementioned Lewandowski who leads the way, in his hunt for what would be a 2nd Pichichi crown in three years in Spain.
